Hello, So I am on OS Mavericks and I'm using the Creative Cloud programs (Illustrator, photoshop, Indesign, Acrobat) Indesign froze up and I had to force quit. It never relaunched give me the aobe error. When I clicked OK I get "Indesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected...) I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Indesign 3 times. Still get the same messages. I have a laptop which uses the CC programs just fine. HELP!

Nadine Robbins can you please verify that you did not receive an error during the installation process for InDesign CC? You can find information on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html. If you do discover any specific errors in the log files please feel free to post them to this discussion.
See Replace Your Preferences to find the paths to the TWO hidden folders where ID stores the preferences in your user library. If you don't know how to show hidden files and folders, see Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
Check to see if the folders are there and also check to be sure you have full read and write permission for them, as well as the parent folders.
Since you force quit, there's a good chance there is damaged recovery data as well that could keep ID from restarting. The InDesign Recovery folder should be in the same path as InDesign SavedData and you should empty it.
