I will be doing a newsletter for a university, and I'm looking for clarification on font usage. A few years ago, I bought a few fonts to use on personal projects. I would like to use some of these fonts for the newsletter. The university wants me to clarify whether it would be all right for me to use the fonts even if the university has not purchased the rights to use them. Can anyone point me in the right direction on this and/or maybe a link to a citation? I can conceptually see arguments for both sides, but I don't want to blindly assume. Thanks.
If you use your fonts on your computer (and additional to the maximum number of computer the font is licensed to) it is not a problem. You are not allowed to transfer the font to any other or additional computer.
Thank you. I appreciate you taking the time to answer.
If you create the newsletter on your own computer and you own the font, indeed, no problem. If the newsletter is distributed as a pdf file later, no problem either. Just don't give the font to some else in order to use it.
