Jeff Arola Jan 18, 2014 2:37 PM (in response to johnny49)Do you have the photoshop cs3 install dvd or did you download the installer to your computer from adobe?
You can't just move the photoshop cs3 applications folder from one computer to another (old install to new install of os x)

3. Re: Trouble installing Photoshop CS3
johnny49 Jan 18, 2014 2:46 PM (in response to Jeff Arola)I downloaded CS3 from Adobe. It was re-installed via my time machine but thats as far as I've got.
I have gotten part way to solving the problem through an online chat with Adobe. It seems that the product I have is an upgrade. They wanted the previous serial number which I do not have, BUT it was discovered via another e-mail address that I had. They found the serial number and then tried to transfer me to another department but sadly I got cut off. This was after waiting for 2hours. So, I'm now wondering what to do.

5. Re: Trouble installing Photoshop CS3
Jeff Arola Jan 18, 2014 3:10 PM (in response to johnny49)That's the problem, you won't have any success if you migrated cs3 with time machine unless
you had restored everything (the entire system) from a clone.
It needs to be a clean install from the dvd or downloaded installer for photoshop cs3.

6. Re: Trouble installing Photoshop CS3
Jeff Arola Jan 18, 2014 3:21 PM (in response to johnny49)If your lucky, using the photoshop cs3 unistaller in the Applications>Utilites>Adobe Installers>Add or Remove Adobe Photoshop CS3
might work for unistalling cs3.
Then doing a fresh install from the dvd or downloader installer might work.
If not, then you'll have to download and run the CC Cleaner Tool
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
Then search around on your hard drive (check especially hard drive>library>application support adobe, as well as Applications)
and remove all the bits you can find, then reinstall from your original installation media.
Do you have any later versions of photoshop like cs4 already installed?
