Upgraded how? An inplace upgrade of an operating system is nothing short of a crapshoot.
Sorry. Updated. I had a software update that I installed.
Have you tried removing the suitcase plugin entirely, not just deactivating?
And Bob is going to tell you anything but a clean install of the OS and reinstalling the apps is a big gamble.
I already did!
Nobody reads your posts the first time. You know that.
I've learned to live with it. <g
Are you both saying that when my software updater tells me I have an OS update I shouldn't do it? It's clear you guys know the tech side to all this which I don't.
I was assuming this was a font issue because a similar thing happened to me back when I was using CS4 and Suitcase 3... that's is why I put the crash report in pastebin. But I have never gotten the error from ID that says.
"InDesign is shutting down. A serious error was detected."
I did not remove the suitcase plug in b/c I have always used Suitcase to handle the fonts - so I have nothing in place to handle this .
Anyway, thanks for responding and if you have any ideas I'd be most grateful.
No. That's not what we're saying.
An update is going from 10.9 to 10.9.1 which is fine. An upgrade is going
from 10.8.5 to 10.9. If you've gone from a cat to a beach, that's an upgrade
and is definitely not a good idea.
So, did you or did you not upgrade the operating system?
In fact it was an upgrade. But I have found the problem and it was a font issue. Thanks.
