Adding Clip on top of Clip

How do I place a clip on top of a clip like adding a fireball on top of a existing clip I have in a video using Adobe Premiere Elements 11. I have no idea how to do this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

                           Thank you,

          Welcome to the forum.

This would be a PiP (Picture in Picture).

If you have an Alpha Channel for the explosion, just place it on a higher Video Track, above the background Video, and then possibly Scale and Position that explosion Clip, as is needed. The Scale, and Position are both Fixed Effects, and can be adjusted, as needed, with the Effects Control Panel.

For PrE 11, you would Select the explosion Clip on the Timeline, then click on FX to get to the adjustments.

          Good luck,

And, for what it's worth, this is one of the 50 effects I take you step by setp through in my "Cool Tricks & Hot Tips for Premiere Elements 11" book.
