How can I tell how large my folio is prior to uploading it to Apple for approval?

          Hello,

you are not uploading folio for approval, unless you are uploading Single-issue application.

Anyway, i was just asking myself for this thing, there is no EASY way how to find it. And would be great to have finaly this feature. To see size of folio and each stack in Folio Builder.

But for example when you will check your folio in desktop Adobe Content Viewer (preview on computer in Folio Builder panel) and then check this folder on your computer (Mac OS  X) you can see size of this folio.

          /Users/xxx/Library/Application Support/com.adobe.dmp.contentviewer/Local Store

As Martin says, you can see your folio size in the Adobe Content Viewer library when you click the item in the gear button to remove issues. Or, you can view the article .folio files in the temporary folder.

If your folio seems unusually large, here are a few things to check:

            1) Did you embed large videos?

            2) Did you link to a "loose" .html file in a web overlay? For example, if the .html file is in your Documents folder (instead of in a subfolder with only the assets used), all the files and subfolders in the Documents folder are uploaded.

            3) For passthrough overlays such as image sequences and image pans, did you use Save for Web to save the files in a compressed JPG format?

            4) For the iPad, did you create 1024x768 folios in PDF format? That's the smallest file size. There is no need to create 2048x1536 PDF folios for the retina iPad.

I just checked my app. It's 118 MB. Yikes. I read that Apple's size limit is 100 MB. Is that true?

I don't think I used the "save for web" option. So that will be an option to reduce the size. I also scaled them to 96ppi thinking they would read better on the retina display. Does this matter at this point? But, I also have serveral videos I need to still add in.

And yes, I sized it to 1024x768 in PDF format.

Untrue. 118 is not that big.

If there is a limit, what is it?

I believe the limit is 2 GB, but you don't want an app that large for a number of reasons. As Bob mentioned, 118 MG is fine.
