    AE threading/Mac Pro question

    vanOs

Hi all, my company is considering the new Mac Pro for our department. We'll be running CC on it and plan to work locally off the built-in drive. While I'm pretty sure AE will run faster than on our current machines (first gene intel quad cores), I read that AE does not take advantage of the multiple cores. We do pretty intensive AE and C4D work so this is a concern. We'd hate to spend big bucks on Mac Pros if it turns out AE runs the same speed on an iMac. Can anyone shed light on this? Is Adobe planning to update AE so that it IS able to utilize multiple cores? Some softwares have done that recently (Apple Motion for example). Thanks much for any info!
