Those are the physical folders where it goes.
It's a "plugin" for the browser(s).
Flash is used to view video, animations and some interactive content, like games which also require the Shockwave plugin.
There are three plugins for Windows
ActiveX (for IE)
Standard (for other browsers)
PepperFlash (for Chrome - embedded by Google)

I found the files in system32/Macromed without difficulty,
but I could not find /syswow64/
I use Vista 32 bit
I have the activex plugin for IE and the plugin for Firefox

SysWOW64 is a "Windows On Windows (WOW)" folder that doesn't exist on 32 bit systems because they don't need compatibility for 32 bit apps.
I included it as a location because most all systems today are 64 bit.
I have IE and FF, so both Flash Players (Active X and the Pluigin) are in the system32/Macromedia folder, am I correct?
