I've recently downloaded Adobe Elements 12 because iMovie won't recognise my Panasonic HD video camera. I installed the Elements software because I wanted to do some video editing to a couple of recordings that I did the other day. I connected my camera via USB link to my MacBook Pro, (I downloaded the Mac version of Elements), and it still won't recognise the camera, even though it is a very expensive top of the range product. The model name of the video camera is Panasonic HDC-SD-800, and my biggest fear now is that it's the Macbook itself that won't recognise the camera, and I've just probably wasted a lot of money for the software. Can anyone help?
This is an AVCHD camcorder and, if you have it properly configured for your OSX to recognize, Premiere Elements will also interface with it using Add Media/From Flip or Camera (which opens the Video Importer).
Have you opened the Video Importer?
Is your camcorder turned on and set to VTR and is it configured to interface with your computer? (If so, it should show up as a device in Finder. Does it?)
