    Chipmunk Sounds

    davefc Level 1
Newbie question: I am trying to programmatically play a sound. I have some code in the first frame of an Actions layer. The entire FLA is 60 frames long with some other animation layers.

No matter how I attach the sound, what start() signature I use, or what movie clip, if any, I construct it with, it plays really fast in a small fraction of a second. How can I slow the sound down to correct speed? Thanks!!

      Here is my script:

Just put the word 'chipmunk' into a google groups search for this group and you will find your answer.
(I'm not kidding.. that one comes up a lot)

lol I was thinking the *same* thing! In fact, I was preparing to
            answer the same answer.

How come nobody every made a FAQ page for Flash for the oft repeated questions?

There really should be one. I imagine it's a tough call, though, to be
the arbiter, even if the page is not official. I thought about giving it a
shot once or twice, but then -- who's to say that my view (or anyone's) on
what's truly frequent is accurate? In the end, I starting blogging ...
which sometimes leans toward FAQ-itude and sometimes doesn't. It's fun,
                though, in any case.

Back in the 'good old days' :), one of the MM employees (Bentley Wolfe if
memory serves, but don't quote me) used to post a 'read this first' message
once a week containing a comprehensive FAQ, posting guidelines, netiquette
guide etc. No longer though sadly.

Have a look at this if you have 5 minutes to spare (and indeed haven't
                  already seen it):
