Mac Pro GPU for 4k Editing in PP

    m41miller42 Level 1

I have a Mac Pro (mid 2010) that I am attempting to edit 4k video on (shot on Canon 1DC).  I have the NVIDIA Quadro 4000 GPU and it is really struggling to keep up.  I have been eyeing the NVIDIA GTX 680 which I understand outbenchmarks the Quadro 4000 (and I think even the K5000), but I wonder what my real world results will be editing 4k video in Premiere CC?  Anyone have any experience with the GTX 680, K5000, or other card with editing 4k video on a Mac Pro?  Even if its a non-apple GPU I'm not afraid of a little hacking   Here are the rest of my system specs if that is helpful at all...
