    Photoshop CS6 Adobe Exchange crashes when trying to install extension


      I installed the Exchange Panel to CS6. When I try to install an extension, or when I click on 'My stuff', I get an error message saying 'Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.'

      So then I have to close the program.


      How can I get it to work? I'm on Windows 7.

          Hello TotalMisfit,


          In both of your scenarios, the application requires to check the logged in user, so I think one of the following workarounds may help:


          1) Try deleting the following file and trying the workflows again:



          2) If the above does not help, please setup logging for Photoshop and send the generated files to lesavage at adobe dot com

          Go to the Start Menu and type in ‘regedit’
          Click regedit.exe from the Programs list

          Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\CSXS.4

          Increase the LogLevel to 6

          Repeat the steps again and the log file will be generated at: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\csxs3-PHSP.log


          Finally, what version of Photoshop are you running and can you take a screenshot of the message that you are seeing in Photoshop?
