making a washed out background - help!

    Level 7
      Hi,

I'm REALLY new to Fireworks and I'm not sure where to start!

I want to make a background for a web page like the background at this
      site - www.patricehaan.com

It's washed out ferns with a hint of color - I'd like to do something
similar but with a pink effect - how do I do this?
Can anyone point me at a tutorial or something?

      Thank you!
      Mark

          Hi Mark,

There are a number of approaches you could take. The simplest is to
click on the add Live filters button in the Property inspector [+] and
choose Adjust Color > Hue/Saturation. Click the Colorize box and move
the Hue slider until you get the color you want. Use the Saturation and
Lightness slider to adjust the amount of color and lightness of the
          image.
