Photoshop Elements 12 - Dragging from the Photo Bin resizes image.

Since this has cropped up several times in this forum I have posted a problem report at http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop_elements_12_dragging_from_ the_photo_bin_resizes_image?rfm=1.

If it affects you and you would like the previous behaviour restored (where a dragged image did not resize) please follow the link and add that you too have the problem.

The full text of the report I made is:

Photoshop Elements 12 - Dragging from the Photo Bin resizes image.

Example: Open a 3x2 image at 300ppi and a 7x5 image at 300ppi. Drag the 3x2 image from the Photo Bin to the 7x5 and PSE resizes it to fill the width of the 7x5. This is wrong. It should appear in the 7x5 at its actual size of 3x2.

This resizing happens whenever dragging an image from the Photo Bin into another image.

      Workarounds:

Arrange your windows so that you can see the source and the composite. Drag the layer from the source onto the composite. This will add the image without resizing.

Ctrl-A (Select All), Ctrl-C (Copy) in the source Editor window then Ctrl-V (Paste) into the composite.

Ctrl-A (Select All)  in the source Editor window and drag to the composite image in the Photo Bin.

All the above put the smaller image into the larger at the correct size.

I'm not sure if this resizing was a new feature or a bug we missed in pre-release. But if a feature can it be selectable in Preferences, and if a bug corrected for PSE13.

      Cheers,
