You are working with transparency, I supoose you have reduced opacity.
Do you really want transparency or you want only a lighter color. Than you should use a tone or a lighter color from the color swatch panel and not reduce opacite in the effects panel.
When you are a novice, try to avoid transparency in the beginning. Transparency is not a bad thing, but needs some information you have to learn before. I think in the help file you will find a bunch of information on transparency.
Actually, I used the eye dropper tool so I could get the same color as a logo I am planning to use. Would that be the problem?
I am trying to find a pms ink color right now.
Humm ... No that didn't fix the problem. I used pms ink color for all 3 pieces and it still show like the sample I posted. ????
Check the Attributes panel, (Window > Attributes). I suspect one or more of those elements are set to overprint, OR, the Multiply blend mode, which is found in the Effects panel.
Ok guys ... I did have the Opacity on the fill down to 45. I said before that I didn't but ... sorry !
I changed it back to 100% and it fixed my problem. I will have to find a blue pms ink color and not try to screen it to make it lighter.
Thank you both for helping me with this!!
