    SVG sprite animation?

    rossfranks Community Member

      Hey there,

has anyone come up with a streamline workflow to export complex animations (say a walk cycle) from Flash to Edge using SVG's?

I know for PNG's the process I use is:

      • Export Flash animation as png sequence

      • Open as "Animation" in Fireworks

      • Commands > Edge Animate > Export as Edge Sprite Animation

      • In Edge Animate > Library Window > click the "+" button in the Symbols heading and choose the "ansym" file (ie the Edge Sprite Animation).

But would rather SVG's for Responsive Scaling animations.

AFAIK the extension John Dunning made doesn't support SVG export. Maybe try this: once you've loaded the sprite inside of AN, swap out the PNGs with SVG files of the same size. You would then change the linked image source in the properties panel:

I know it's kind of an annoying workaround, but would that work?

            Thanks for that Sarah,

that is a way to do it, but time consuming and it'd be great to have an automated or batch way to do it, escpecially if you're dealing with multiple characters or if you do a 3d vector render sequence.
