Can you be more specific about "it won't let me choose where to save them on the computer?
What exactly are you clicking and what is or is not happening?
On the Video Importer screen there is a box that shows "save in". It only offers one choice (C:\Users\Bob\Videos). Would like to save to external hard drive, but, in fact, I can't figure out how to save them anywhere. The only active buttons are refresh, uncheck all, cancel and get media.
Never mind. I found Adobe Help and I'm moving forward. I was trying to operate using only the Getting Started booklet that came with the software.
If you have more than one DVD that you are working with....
The problem is that each DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc uses the same name for its video files
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on.
The Video Importer shows as its Save In: Videos. Consequently, after the first DVD, all the rest of those DVDs will give you an "already imported message". In this case, you need to set for a different location/folder in the Save In: each DVD.
If you are dealing with just one DVD and cannot set the Save In for a location other than Videos (the default), I suspect that you are not clicking on the folder icon to the right of the Save In field. That is your Browse to and designate your hard drive save location opportunity.
In the screenshot, I have set the Save In: to my external hard drive which has the drive letter G.
Please review and then let us know if any of the above applies to your situation.
I did not see your latest post until after I had posted mine.
Glad to learn that you have worked through your issue.
