Don't be fooled by the "minimum requirements".
They don't take into account that your MBA has a hyperthreaded dual core processor that has an effective speed of 5.2gHz
The problem is that I could not update for the version 12 and decided to uninstall what I had running in my machine. Now I can't install it anymore! I checked the requirements and then thought that it was my problem... what shoud I do?
Thanks Mike, but I perform all your "steps" and I still had a failed instalation!!!!
Are you using Mt. Lion (10.8.5)?
This is exactly the screen I had!
Your troubles aren't coming from Flash Player.
You're missing a file that was made visible by the 10.8.5 update. Hundreds of thousands of Mac users all over the world deleted it, not knowing what it was. It causes this when it's missing.
This will allow you to see Hidden Files on your Mac.
And this one also by right clicking and choosing "Download Linked File As": mach_kernel.zip
This is the missing file that's causing your problems.
Install Secrets, and open your System Preferences.
Open the Secrets Preference Pane, and check "Show hidden files"
You'll need to press the "Quit this" button,
and restart Finder, by right clicking the Dock icon.
Then, place the mach_kernel.zip file in the Mac HD directory,
and unzip it. You should see a "faded" mach_kernel file appear.
Trash the zip file.
Reopen your System Preferences and uncheck "Show Hidden files".
Instead of quitting Finder and relaunching it, reboot your Mac.
Your Flash Player installer won't quit anymore.
