Since you installed it and it showed up in the insert menu, EM CC has done its work correctly. You have to ask the extension producer for the problem. If you only want to see what files are included in the extension, you can change the file extension from ".zxp" to ".zip", then unzip it with any of unzip tools.
Thanks, guess I will have to figure out how to get in touch with the Adobe engineer Veressh Hiremat that published the extension, being new to Adobe I wonder if he is reachable. hmmmm Thanks

Many thanks for the response. The SSI extension is still not working for
me, maybe I am just not understanding the correct install. What I have done
is go to your page and download the SSSI extension then launch the download.
This takes me to the installer interface, I see the extension shows it
installed. I then open DW CC and open my index page and place the cursor
where I would want to put my include file and select from the menu ³insert
SSI². At that point there is nothing, no options for a file the insert
extension menu where I clicked just disappears and I am back to code view.
Have I missed something? Seems like it should be so easy.
BTW I did manually add a include file to my page and tested it, everything
worked perfect both locally and on my host so there is no issue support
include files. Again thanks for you help, very sorry to bother you.

Just an update. I removed the
SSI extension and followed your sample step by step. Everything works until
I get to
1. Choose Insert > Server-Side Include. Browse to select the nav.shtml file.
The following line of code is inserted in the logo div:
I get NO option to browse for the file, I click on Insert>Server Side
Include in the insert drop down. As soon as I click the menus disappears
and there is no way to browse for anything.

Hi Norm Stokes
Thanks for reporting the issue.
Thanks for confirming the fix , the files i provided above are only for test, i will sign them now and upload to the Article.
Will let you know once the fix is live , till that point you can use the unsigned version.
Thank you sir, appreciate the timely assistance I am looking forward to my
total conversion to Adobe products
Something broke. After testing my main page and seeing the ssi extension
worked I went and tried to stat redoing other pages. I see the code being
inserted and see the line in the published code but the server does nothing
so I lose the menu. I figured that since it was working on my home page it
must be a server issue. After 3 hours on the phone the host said it is
something with the design software not publishing correct. What is strange
is I can see the ssi include locally by using the temp file for the bowser
setting, it is like the file does not know the other file needs to be run.
I am at a toal loss, please assit

Looks like I am nailing down the problem a little. In testing I can open a
new file add an ssi and publish. This will work. Where it appears the
problem is coming from is the existing pages I have that were created in
Expression web 4 (ew4). The only special code I used there other than
normal css is the Include function of EW4 for the menus, these are what I am
working to convert to DW and use SSI. Is there a way to clean EW4 code so
the webot code as they call it is wiped out so DW cc will work on these
files or am I going to have to re-create a ton of files? Please advise
ininstalled DW, reinstall, working perfect, even found a server issue with my site, pretty cool
