Laubender Feb 12, 2014 2:01 PM (in response to straightlife)@straightlife – it also helps to save an object where you applied the effect.
If you have such an object at hand, you can transfer that effect to a different one.
Just select the object with the effect (here the yellow rectangle), open the Effects Panel and drag the small "fx" in the panel to a different object (the blue polygon):
In the moment you are hover the cursor over the object your cursor icon will change to a small hand with a plus symbol. Let go and the effect will be applied…

SRiegel Jul 3, 2014 11:48 AM (in response to SteveBradley44)You can use "Load Object Styles" from within your new document to pull saved styles from the old one. Alternately, you can paste an object with the style applied into your new document. The Style will ride in with it, as long as there is not already another style by the same name in your new document.
