JSS1138 Feb 15, 2014 10:18 AM (in response to mikeklar)What makes you think DL Manager is causing a problem. Certainly it doesn't normally.

2. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 10:28 AM (in response to JSS1138)Right clicking on the Sequence shows the "Edit clip in Adobe Audition" greyed out. As well clicking on "Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition > Sequence" that window also has the "Open in Adobe Audition" greyed out.
As well reading somewhere on Adobe's WEB site there is mention this link won't work if "Adobe Dynamic Link Manager" is selected. However, there was no mention on how to terminate it.

That's not correct.
What version of Premiere Pro and Audition are you running?

4. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 10:35 AM (in response to JSS1138)This is the case with Permier Pro CC and Audtion CC, with all the latest updates installed.
FYI CS6 does not have this issue

5. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
JSS1138 Feb 15, 2014 10:44 AM (in response to mikeklar)OK.
Open Audition separately and save out an audio session (this creates an .sesx file). From Windows Explorer, make sure the file association for that is set to Audition.

6. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 10:50 AM (in response to JSS1138)That's not what I want, as that is way to slow for what is needed on this project.
I want it to work as it is with CS6. Unfortunately, CS6 it is no longer on this computer as I was under the impression CC to be better supported.

Huh? I told you how to fix it. How is that 'not what you want'?

8. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 1:14 PM (in response to JSS1138)Your feedback is appreciated.
I checked the "session templates" and *.sesx" files have been created. These are located under ... > Public Documents > Adobe > Audition > 6.0 > Session Templates ... This has not resolved my linking issue described above. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?
Hence, what I'm still looking for is how to disable the "Dynamic Link Manager", which, supposedly will allow using "Adobe Audition" and having the original copy remain intact, but with the edited audio beneath it, without manually importing it from Audition's folder.
This was always the case in CS6 and as stated earlier there is a reference somwhere in Adobe's literature referencing the fact the Dynamic Link Manager is enabled this will not work in the manner I've gotten used to under CS6.

Fuzzy Barsik Feb 15, 2014 1:27 PM (in response to mikeklar)this link won't work if "Adobe Dynamic Link Manager" is selected.
That is... um-m-m... slightly incorrect.
I checked the "session templates" and *.sesx" files have been created.
Jim advised you not to check if it can be created, but if .sesx file extension is associated with Audition as a default application.

10. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 1:40 PM (in response to Fuzzy Barsik)It appears to be associated with Audition CC since it was created by the program, also, it was created from Premier Pro CC. Then I have to manually open Audition and open the file created.
I'm still looking for the document which seems to state this will not work if the Dynamic Link Manager is activated, and will post it here.
Right now I wish I hadn't removed Master Collection CS6 :-(

OK.
Define "this" specifically.
what I'm still looking for is how to disable the "Dynamic Link Manager"
You really don't want that. It's supposed to be running and does not normally interfere with the Audition process.
in Adobe's literature referencing the fact the Dynamic Link Manager is enabled this will not work in the manner I've gotten used to under CS6.
That's not correct. I have no trouble making this work with it running. Something else is going on.

12. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 4:46 PM (in response to JSS1138)First, thanks for sticking with this
I'll take it the "Dynamic Link Manager" stays... FYI below is the link where I read the note about an issue with the Dynamic Link manager. See the note at the bottom of the first section.
http://helpx.adobe.com/en/premiere-pro/using/editing-audio-audition.html
If your question is about "this was always the case in CS6..." I still have the Master Suite CS6 loaded on my laptop and just tired it to see if it is me having phantasies but it still works as it should. Unfortunately, the project is way too large for working on a laptop
Would you please guide me through the process, i.e. your comment "open Audition seperaately and save out an audio session... from Explorer make sure the file association for that is set to Audition", in other words how can I make sure a specific *.SESX file opens with Audition?
I may not fully have understood the procedure you recommend?

13. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
JSS1138 Feb 15, 2014 5:16 PM (in response to mikeklar)"Note: The Edit In Audition command is not available for Adobe Dynamic Link clips."
That's something very different from what you said.
how can I make sure a specific *.SESX file opens with Audition?
Make sure that the OS knows to open those files with Audition. You set this with File Associations. You can Google just how to do that for your specific OS.

14. Re: How to Terminate Dynamic Link Manager with Premier Pro CC
mikeklar Feb 15, 2014 5:29 PM (in response to JSS1138)Thanks Simon
That's all it took
Now I can open the audio file by right clicking any sequence, i.e. "edit clip in Adobe Audition" and also with the "Edit in Adobe Audition" window.
Cheers
