What platform?  Are you using a 10-bit monitor?

              Hello Bill,

              I have a Dell U3011 (DP)

and I currently have the monitor settings to 2560 x 1600 True color (32

              bit), 60Hz

I am running windows 7 Professional service pack 1

              Processor Intel (R) Xenon(R) CPU    E5410 @2.33GHz  2.33GHz  (2 processors)

              24 GB Ram

              64 bit Operating System

              I hope this helps

Then yes that would be the upgrade. However keep in mind the Quadro K4000 is signficantly slower than even a 660Ti GTX card. The only real benefit is 10bit color preview.

Those two Xeon processors are almost 7-years old and terribly underpowered in today's technology.  I personally would not first consider a $700-800 graphics upgrade with that underpowered CPU setup

Maybe a MOD will Edit the title of your post to reflect the Quadro aspect of the question for both clarity and to help others, if they do a Search of the Hardware Forum.

                      Good luck,
