I have a file that was created in our current version of CS4. Now when I try to open it, it says missing plug-in "SharedContent.InDesignPlugin. When I click OK, another list of appx 20 plug-ins appear and it says please upgrade your plug-ins to their atest versinos, or upgrade to th latest version of Adobe InDesign. Shouldn't I be able to open a file in the same version it was created with ?
Sounds like it was opened and saved in a later version. Did anyone run a trial at any point?
Not sure - it was created by a previous employee so she may have at sometime run a trial - is there a way to either find out, or try to revert back to the CS4 file ?
The only way back to CS4 is to open the file in the newer version, then export or save as .idml (same thing in two places in the file menu).
You can use the script at Adobe Forums: [Ann] Identify Your InDesign File to find the version.
