Go to the text wrap properties (Strg+B or CMD+B) and activate "Ignore Text Wrap"

Well in case you check back, also consider whether having text wrap applied to the image is intentional. If not, you may have inadvertently set it as a default for all frames, and that is most likely undesirable. With nothing selected, check the Text Wrap panel, and set it to No Text Wrap. You don't want to have to set every text frame to Ignore Text Wrap.
thank you! That's exactly what happened, and considering I didn't even know that panel existed, it was quite a hassel to correct it each time. thanks for the help!
