I have copied a long text from the internet ...then I pasted it to a indesign (cs6) document but I can't justify it ..... I also tried by converting it to PDF ....but I can not justify it ...... I have to do it line by line ...... but it takes too much time ..... what shout I do?.......
It sounds like you have hard returns at the end of each line.
Turn on the hidden characters. Type > Show Hidden Characters.
Then look to see if there is a ¶ at the end of each line.
Then look to see if there is a ¶¶ between the paragraphs.
If you have the ¶¶, you're in luck. You can use Find/Change to clean up the text. It seems more complicated than it actually is. And I do this all the time.
First you're going to do a search for ^p^p and change it to something that you wouldn't find in your text. I always use ~~~~~.
Click Change All.
Now do a search for ^p and change it to a space. This will strip the returns out of the text and insert a space.
Now do a search for ~~~~~ and change it to ^p.
Now do a search for two spaces and convert to a single space.
And you're done.
