JSS1138 Feb 20, 2014 3:44 PM (in response to gibby1)I've not used either, but it's my understanding that the more affordable BM products will not do any type of signal conversion, it's a straight pass-through. So if you happen to be working in a sequence that isn't supported by your display, you won't get any signal. For example, my reference TV won't take 1080p, only 1080i, so any 1080p sequence I used for editing with a BM device would not show up. This might also apply to editing in a 2K or 4K sequence.
AJA devices can do on-the-fly conversion for such scenarios, but...they start at $1,000.

seascapekw Feb 21, 2014 5:40 AM (in response to gibby1)Got my new MacPro a few weeks ago. I got the AJA T-Tap to monitor SDI out to my Flanders monitor and my HDMI client monitor. Works great and is under 300.00.

seascapekw Feb 22, 2014 5:49 AM (in response to gibby1)The T-Tap is fine. It has worked as well as the Kona LHi card on my previous MacPro.
