All photos open with CS6 as default, but I have CC

    straightlife Community Member

      I'm on a mac.

      Using OS 10.8.5

I do what I always do to set defaults: I select a file, I do a get info, I select open with CC and then hit "change all."

      It doesn't work.

When I select a photo by double clicking it always automatically opens with CS6

      Suggestions?

P.S. I've changed the default for most file types in Bridge, but there is no setting for PSDs which is what I mostly use.

When you double click a file in Finder or in Bridge it opens in photoshop cs6?

          You installed Bridge CC?

Psd files should be listed in the bridge file associations as Photoshop Document (.psd, .psb...

Perhaps Hide Undefined File Associations is checked

yes, thanks, I found the Photoshop Document in bridge and selected cc.  Hide Undefined is NOT checked.

But the problem seems to be (at least partly) in the OS.

Because I see that when I use the get info thing and select "change all" and then say yes, I do want all CS6 documents to open in CC the "Open with" drop down actually changes BACK to CS6.

So I can't just arbitrarily double-click a document and have it open in CC.  I have to select open with. Unless I've actually got Bridge open.
