this is driving me crazy.
I've made a test.
I created a new "comp1" from scratch. Added a basic shape layer and applied a liquify effects on it.
The liquify tools are working and the brush is visibile on the window.
I copied/pasted this shape layer on the comp that was causing problem with liquify tool, guess what, the liquify tools of the shape layer have disappeared. The liquify effect on the shape is still visible, the shape remain deformed, but I can't see the brush on the screen anymore.
Please note that I'm actually selecting the liquify tools on the effect control panel, I'm aware that if you don't select the tool, the brush won't appear on screen.
Are you looking in the layer viewer or the comp viewer?
Comp viewer. And it was working.
I've been selecting and deselecting every single tool like crazy, without any success to see the brush...
Version of AE, OS, Graphics Driver? Did you close AE and relaunch? Did you reboot? What changed?
Are yoi seeing UI elements in the Composition panel for any other effects? Are you seeing UI elements for items such as mask paths in the Composition panel?
Did you turn off visibility of such layer controls--e.g., by using the Ctrl+Shift+H keyboard shortcut?
All right, Todd thanks a lot.
I've been using a lot the short cut "ctrl+shift+h" and my understanding was that the shortcut was affecting just the mask visibility.
I wasn't aware that it could affect also the brush visibility of the Liquify Effect, even when a tool from the liquify panel is selected. To me this behaviour seems a little bit missleading and not logic.
Anyway, thanks a lot Todd.
And thanks also to Rick and Szalam for the time and the effort they put into this problem.
