1. Re: how do you handle duplicate symbols from other project?
kglad Feb 23, 2014 1:26 PM (in response to liborio_illus)i agree, this can be a huge mess unless you 'replace existing items'. that's the option you want to select when updating library symbols - unless you want to keep older and newer versions.
when you want to keep older and newer versions, after merging libraries, rename the 'duplicate items folder' so it uses the date of the merge so you can tell which items were added and when they were added.

liborio_illus Feb 24, 2014 2:40 PM (in response to kglad)Mmmm I see...
my big problem comes in projects with symbosl inside folders, and you copy layers from a project to another one. if the symbols are inside layers, the new ones are copied in the main library, so it duplicates W/O asking you.
I think his should be the nex focus thing for the CC2

3. Re: how do you handle duplicate symbols from other project?
kglad Feb 25, 2014 3:09 AM (in response to liborio_illus)if the folder names are the same, using 'replace existing items' works as expected. if folder names are not the same, you would not expect same-named symbols to replace each other.
i don't see anything for adobe to 'change/fix'.
