    Word to InDesign

When I paste a text cut out from a Word document into a InDesign document, the lines get shorter than they need to be. What can I do about it?

This needs a bit more of an explanation before anyone can answer.

Perhaps (after naively doing exactly what you describe) you are confused because after pasting you get a default text frame of 150 pt x 150 pt with your copied text inside it. That is to be expected: unless you copy into an existing text frame, InDesign cannot 'know' the original width of the text in the Word document. That information just isn't copied along (I, for one, would not like it at all if it did).
