Is there a trick to publishing 2 versions of the iPad app?

I have published two folios for ipad, v25 and v29. Do I need to publish the v25 version first or is there a trick to this? Here is a response from one of our subscribers. Why is this happening to her?

"I love the tablet addition as I live overseas and it is hard to receive the magazine with our antiquated post office. I get Christmas cards in July! Please note that I have a 1st edition ipad and now it will not let me download the march issue due to I cannot upgrade to IOS6. Can you ask apple to allow the magazine to go on as it was???? I was able to download the Glaze Exploration Special that arrived at the same time. I will not be renewing my subscription due to this problem and I hate missing the magazine. Once I can update my ipad to a newer version, I will then renew my subscription unless you can fix this."

SO THIS IS A MULTI FOLIO PROFESSIONAL EDITION MAGAZINE. I PUBLISHED TWO DIFFERENT ISSUE OF OUR MAGAZINE EXACTLY THE SAME WAY AND AT THE SAME TIME. I PUBLISHED BOTH ISSUES WITH 3 FOLIOS. ONE V25 1024X768, V29 1024X768, AND V29 1000X750. ONE OF THE ISSUES WORKS ON IPAD ONE, THE OTHER ISSUE DOES NOT. WHAT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE PROBLEM????

Why don't you just publish using the v25 folio format? (I'm assuming you have a v25 app in the store.)

We have v29 with social sharing enabled. Why is the ipad 1 not pulling the correct folio for our March Issue of Ceramics MOnthly, but is pulling the correct folio for our "bonus issue" Glaze Exploration? Both magazines are constructed the same ways. v25 and v29 with v29 having metered and free articles.

Unfortunately can't publish two folios with the same size and different target viewer versions and expect the viewer to pick up the right one. Our viewer logic doesn't work that way. The only way for your iPad 1 customers to see content is to have a v25 folio published and have it be the only 1024x768 folio in that account.

One thing you could do is create a new publication account for all your v29 folios, put all the content in that account, and update your v29 viewer so it pulls folios from there. Leave the other account around for the v25 folios for your iPad 1 readers.

I didn't realize that you could still "share" with v25 if you have an ipad with the latest app version. I deleted the v29 folio and metered the v25 article, updated and it is working just fine for all ipads. Thank you for all your help!
