After installing the new Maverick OS X on my Mac, I lost some fonts and my Didot Regular font is appearing warped in all my 3rd party applications, including InDesign/Photoshop/Word. The numbers 0, 1, and 2 are all flatter, and the 1 looks like an I. Anyone else encounter this? Even the Apple people have this problem and they don't know what it is. It appears correctly in Apple apps, just not 3rd party apps like Adobe. I tried to reinstall Maverick and that didn't work. I even checked in the Font Book, and it appears properly there. I also disabled and enabled Didot there. And I removed and reinstalled it. None of these tactics worked. Any idea on what else I can do?
I have the same issue. Not on all installations though. Some Mavericks installations work as they should.
Try going to Library>Fonts and removing the Didot.ttf font.
It worked for me.
I was having the same problem – numbers were going weird. Temporary fix was to insert the numbers as glyphs. My solution was to find a machine not upgraded to Mavericks and take the copy of Didot from there. On my old machine the font version was 6 whereas the Mavericks version was 9. I deactivated the system version, put the old version in a separate location and activated that instead. I was using Xtensis Suitcase for this – I guess it would work to just replace the new version with the old if that doesn't work though.
