Hello, I have a Captivate 7 project that is being deployed in an LMS that we need to run in a browser and on an iPAD. Everything works fine in the LMS browser when publishing to both SWF and HTML5, but the videos do not appear on the iPAD. I’ve updated to the latest patch  7.0.1237.

I realize this is similair to other discussions, but nothing in those other discussions helps with this problem

I've read several things that video won't play unless there are video controls.

I don't have to code for multiple devices at work, but I would think you should have at least 4 video formats in the video tag. All browsers favor a specific video type. It could be an mp4 but it is not encoded correctly to run on an iPad. Apple seems to have the user in mind when it comes to how much data is pushed.

I've tried control and no controls. Neither works. Taleo Learn has a posting on their forums for cp6 with a bunch of changes for the Media Encoder, but I'm hoping there's an easier solution than that.

The only thing I could suggest is that you serach Apple forums for proper encoding to play on the iOS version that is on your iPad, keeping in mind that you may have to use multiple video files. HTML5 goes down the list of videos until it finds one it can play.

Taleo Learn has forums somewhere? Please tell me where! I have been searching for any kind of answers or documentation with zero luck.

Hi jotasprout, there's a Learn forum inside of Oracle Communities.

Over a year has gone by. I'm now using Captivate 8. I am still unable to get an event video to play in anything other than a desktop browser when publishing to both swf and HTML5. Does anyone have any updated info?

I've never had a problem with video on Learn for desktop. I suspect the issue is with Captivate. Try putting a test course with just a video slide on SCORM Cloud to verify if it is Learn or the CP file.

It's Captivate. Videos also will not play on any mobile devices when published w/out SCORM and placed on a web server.

According to documentation I was finally given, and I quote, "The LearnCenter course player does not support HTML5 content and will not play HTML5 courses.” So it sounds like you're in the same boat I am. iOS won't support SWF and Taleo Learn doesn't support HTML5.

Ooh ... I'll check to see which Release we're using. My experiments with it were just a couple weeks ago.
