    noob Q-target text font size

    RDacoustics
      Hi,
      I hope this makes sense but when I add a link to text in design view and run it in a browser the font size gets smaller and turns bold. How do I stop this. Im currently using DW4 and have used a free template with default text. I looked at the html code but cant see anything...is it something to do with the CSS file and how do I change this. Any help appreciated

          Show us the page, please. It undoubtedly has something to do with the CSS.

                If I turn off the CSS styles it still adjusts the font size/bold. Where can I change the default settings for target text

                      Which text are you referring to? Could it be

                      <font size="2.5"><b><font color="#0099CC">Welcome to
                      R&amp;D Acoustic Consultants website</font></b></font>

                      Of so, it has noting to do with CSS--you are making it bold with the <b>
                      tags. I don't think size="2.5" is valid.

                      If it's some other text, which is it?

                          I found the CSS file attached with the template.

                          a.f:link {

                          font-family: tahoma;
                          font-size: 10px;
                          font-weight: normal;
                          color: 88B547;
                          text-decoration: underline;
                          }
                          a.f:hover {

                          font-family: tahoma;
                          font-size: 10px;
                          font-weight: normal;
                          color: #339CB2;
                          text-decoration: underline;
                          }
                          a.f:visited {

                          font-family: tahoma;
                          font-size: 10px;
                          font-weight: normal;
                          color: 88B547;
                          text-decoration: underline;

                          I had a play around and seen I can change the font settings for linked text. Hopefully I can sort it from here...I didnt realise CSS files overide html code and DW default settings.

                            Level 7
                            It's in your CSS:
                            a:link {color: 8C8982;

                            font-family: tahoma;

                            font-size: 10px;

                            font-weight: bold;

                            text-decoration: none;}But your code is a mess, I'm surprised anything
                            works. It looks like much of your code was generated in Image Ready, a very
                            bad idea. Your <head> tag closes, then you have a CSS link then your <body>
                            tag opens. Yikes!

                            Try validating your page for some code pointers:
                            http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3A%2F%2Frda.0catch.com%2FHome%2520Page.ht m

                            Like many, you seem to have jumped into the deep end without taking time to
                            learn the basics, That's why otherwise simple things like link formatting
                            seem complicated. Please take time to learn the basics of (X)HTML, CSS and
                            page layout before proceeding further. Otherwise you have little more than
                            frustration to look forward to.

                              Yes, I kinda figured the CSS was a mess so I deleted most of the commands. There was about 7 different controls for linked text and none of it made sense. I have attached the original CSS file if anybody is interested but I could not figure out what was controling what!

                              No sure about <head> closing before CSS opening???

                                Im not trying to make this into a career but trying to get my Co + website up and running therefore just trying to keep it simple...:(

                                  Refer to my first response and fix your code. It is full of errors and is
                                  unlikely to work properly.
