    Background clutter

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of the background clutter in the attached photograph.  This question was asked before, but I didn't attach the photo.

      Thanks

Heather, is your goal to completely isolate the bike or just remove certain elements of the background?

          Cheers,

            Hi Neal

My goal is to have a photo of the bike without the distracting clutter in the background which is all the usual things one would find in a garage.  The background could be a plain white or cream.

Thank you for taking the trouble to get in touch.

              Heather,

Use the magnetic lasso tool to isolate the bike

You can get rid of the clutter between the spokes of the front wheel with the magic wand tool.bike_2.jpg

                    Heather,

Glad that you are getting some assistance with this project.

This is where I am not sure what PsE offers vs Ps (where you posted first), but once you have the Selections made, as instructed, if PsE has a Quick Mask Mode (my ignorance is showing here), you should be able to do touch-up on the Selection, to be used as a Mask. It's simple and can take a rough Selection to perfection, with but a little work with the Brush Tool. Others, who know PsE can direct you better than I can. Creating a perfect Mask takes a bit of work, but the results will be rewarding. With the Selection Tools, you are almost there.

                    Good luck,
