ChadRHorn Mar 21, 2014 4:37 PM (in response to JesseSchluntz)Did you solve your problem? Same scenerio for me (new mac pro, exorts having issues for H.264 - haven't tried other codecs yet).

2. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Mar 23, 2014 10:46 PM (in response to ChadRHorn)Sorry I just got to this. Your link was empty unfortunately.
I spoke to an Adobe tech and he told me Adobe is aware of the problem and working with AMD to fix it. I reminded him that Adobe has a post on their site saying their software is compatible with AMD's Firepro cards. For now I'm rendering on my old system when possible, otherwise the only fix is turning off openCL rendering.

3. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Mar 23, 2014 10:47 PM (in response to ChadRHorn)PS - I have the same problem with rendering Prores, and my source files are Prores. Crazy.

4. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Tore Jonssen Mar 28, 2014 10:02 AM (in response to JesseSchluntz)Apparently (according to Adobe rep via email today) this issue is fixed in version 7.2.2, due in about 1 week from now. Fingers crossed!

6. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
MaoSoto Apr 5, 2014 1:02 PM (in response to JesseSchluntz)I am getting the same render artifacts, horizontal lines. I'm also getting horizontal lines made of square dots, but usually these dots happen when I'm overlaying a PSD graphic.
I have the new Mac Pro with dual GPU AMD FirePro D700.
I noticed that dissabling max render in the sequence setings solves the problem, though my renders now take a lot longer.
To render without artifacs with AME CC, in the bottom of your queue choose: Mercury playback engine software only. This would not use the GPU and render using only the CPUs. This again renders slower and if you had done scaling and reframing in your edits it will be of lower quality.
Please, Adobe and Apple and AMD, please solve this issue.

7. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
parcyvall Apr 7, 2014 8:53 AM (in response to Tore Jonssen)It did not solve this issue!
We are having the same issues, not only with H.264, but with ProRes as well... We REALLY need a solution to this. Though I am not sure the problem is with Adobe... When transcoding R3Ds using REDCINE X, these horizontal lines occur as well. The one common factor we all seem to share is the new Mac Pro...

8. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Tore Jonssen Apr 7, 2014 9:26 AM (in response to parcyvall)Parcyvall, did you get a hold of the update? Unfortunately, I am unable to test since my new Mac Pro is being serviced after locking itself in endless reboots when encoding files in AME, I am not able to test whether or not the CC update has any effect on the matter. We bought two Mac Pros, identical config, whereas one of them is working perfectly, the other one had these lines and the reboot problem (since day 1, clean install)

9. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Tore Jonssen Apr 7, 2014 9:27 AM (in response to Tore Jonssen)Oh, and I did get the artifacts even during software only renders

10. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
parcyvall Apr 7, 2014 9:49 AM (in response to Tore Jonssen)Yes, the promblem remains after updating to 7.2.2
Talking to Apple, they say they have no idea what might cause this. I tried some renders with FCP X, just to see, and they seem to work just fine. Haven't done enough testing to be sure, but in the quick exports I just tried, no errors occured.

11. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
MaoSoto Apr 7, 2014 3:30 PM (in response to JesseSchluntz)I upgraded to premiere 7.2.2 today and the horizontal lines problem got even worst. Now I get them with any combination of settings. Max render, no max render, etc.
And worst, this upgrade broke the ability to export using AME (Adobe Media Encoder), so now I can't force the computer to use software only to export (AME gives you the option but premiere doesn't). I can't figure out a way to export my renders without artifacts.
Now everytime I send I send a file to AME for export, when I start the export AME gets hang "reading the XMP". It never really starts the export.
I am now doing another clean install. The second one in one week.
Please Adobe, fix this problem. It is pointless to use Premiere CC if it makes you miss dedlines because you can't render or export your edits.

12. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Jim Simon Apr 7, 2014 6:08 PM (in response to MaoSoto)Hardware acceleration is controlled in PP under File>Project Settings>General...
How long do you wait in AME before you call it quits?

13. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 7, 2014 6:08 PM (in response to MaoSoto)Not fixed? Ugh. I've noticed when I export with software only the file sizes are almost double what they are if I use hardware on my laptop to export. Stupid I need to transfer everything to a hard drive to the laptop to export instead of on my brand new machine.
Guess this is what we get for being the guinea pigs?

14. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Jim Simon Apr 7, 2014 6:15 PM (in response to ChadRHorn)File size is based on the duration of the program and the bitrate of the encode. Hardware acceleration won't have any impact on that.

15. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Mark Mapes Apr 7, 2014 6:25 PM (in response to ChadRHorn)Have those of you who are still hitting this problem on 7.2.2 cleared you cache files and render previews? I'm not at all familar with this bug but, if it's on the Adobe side and it's been fixed, then it's possible that it's "saved" to the cache or preview files, in which case purging them after updating to 7.2.2 would help.

16. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 7, 2014 6:26 PM (in response to Jim Simon)I thought that too, but identical videos using identical settings ... different file sizes between the macbook pro and the mac pro. And of course, the mac pro also was adding the horizontal artifacts.

17. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
parcyvall Apr 8, 2014 7:33 AM (in response to Mark Mapes)Hey Mark,
yes we did clear cache files and render previews. Not solved at all... No problems when rendering with FCP X though.... For us, the only workaround right now is to disable Open CL, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a workhorse machine like the Mac Pro with dual GPU AMD FirePro D700...
Please fix this, it cripples us!

18. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Apr 14, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to parcyvall)I spoke to another tech in India and here is what I was told:
The 7.2.2 update did not fix the random horizontal lines, and they are aware of this. There will be another update in a few weeks that will fix it. That's what I was told, but read on for why I'm skeptical...
There is one other issue myself and others have been suffering through since 7.2, which was supposedly fixed in 7.2.1, but as you can see by this thread, it wasn't fixed:
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1357792?tstart=0
7.2.2's documentation does not mention a fix for this problem either, so I've decided to wait until 7.2.3 and skip the current 7.2.2 upgrade. Until then I have to render without open CL, and I can't use the constant power audio transition to fade in/out my audio due to the afformentioned issue.
Trying to be patient here...

parcyvall Apr 23, 2014 7:50 AM (in response to JesseSchluntz)So do we have an update on this issue? We're still feeling crippled here... Did anyone get this resolved yet?

20. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
Tore Jonssen Apr 23, 2014 8:39 AM (in response to parcyvall)Still waiting for Apple to decide whether they want to fix or replace my new Mac Pro, that sporadically went into endless rebooting mode. So I have no way of testing this for now. Will get back with info ASAP once I get the new computer.

21. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
MaoSoto Apr 23, 2014 10:57 AM (in response to parcyvall)No fixes yet. It really is Adobe Premiere and AME having rendering problems with new Mac Pros with AMD FirePro D700 cards.
PLEASE Adobe fix this.
-
22. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
MaoSoto Apr 23, 2014 11:13 AM (in response to MaoSoto)At the very least Adobe should acknowledge that they really don't support the new MacPros with the new AMD FirePro 700 cards. I'm finding this situation very dishonest from Adobe's side.

24. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Apr 23, 2014 11:35 AM (in response to Dan Esp)Dan Esp,
The lines you showed are not the issue we are having. Unlicensed plug ins overlay things like a red x until you purchase them. We are having random horizontal lines when playing / rendering using OpenCL.

25. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 28, 2014 4:31 PM (in response to JesseSchluntz)Just checking in as I'm still having problems. I'm guessing it is everyone who bought a Mac Pro? Anyone see a fix yet?

26. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 29, 2014 7:59 AM (in response to ChadRHorn)I'm starting to get really anxious about this problem. Today it took me ~20 minutes to re-export a 30 second spot because of a minor tweak. Of course we were on a deadline. If I was able to use OpenCL to export it would have been a few minutes. It seems awful to have to either gamble that theer won't be problems with a 5 minute export or have a guaranteed 20 minute export. As I come into my busy season I will need to either a) get this resolved or b) learn a different editing system, because my clients often don't have that 20 minutes for every tweak anymore.

28. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
j schwarz Apr 29, 2014 6:36 PM (in response to JesseSchluntz)YES ADOBE YOU NEED TO FIX THIS! I brought my system to the apple store to see if they chould fix the issues because i have the same error in Resolve. But they are swearing up and down that it is not the card and that i could be my ram. but tried other ram still the same issue.

29. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChrisLewis10 Apr 29, 2014 6:56 PM (in response to j schwarz)Safe to say there is still no fix for this? I came across this issue today and unfortunately wasted time troubleshooting it before I came across it on here. Video looks great in premeire pro but the rendered file and subsequently the video I posted on YouTube are horrible in comparison, very soft, blurry and substantial amounts of these "horizontal lines" pretty much any where there is a slight shake or motion. If you open the image you can see how horribly evident it is. Its unacceptable. This was the first video I posted as a possible venture, and turns out its garabage. Not a very good first impression. I'd love to blame Adobe for this but I should have reviewed the rendered file more closely. Does anyone have alternative format suggestions? Or is this an over all rendering issue for all codecs?

30. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 29, 2014 7:33 PM (in response to ChrisLewis10)The only solution currently is to "queue" the file instead of exporting, and using Media Encoder change it from OpenCL to software only. Be prepared for extremely long render times by comparison.
I really hope they fix it soon...

31. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Apr 30, 2014 8:01 AM (in response to ChadRHorn)That was my workaround Chad, but yesterday I began having the issue even with that method, which worked until yesterday. Rendering via AME with open CL turned off, for the first time the lines showed up in the final product.
My workaround to that workaround is to:
- clean media cache
- in Premiere project settings, switch open CL off
- export straight from premiere
the madness continues.
CAN SOMEONE FROM ADOBE PLEASE CHIME IN?

32. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Apr 30, 2014 8:04 AM (in response to j schwarz)jschwarz, do not listen to Apple on this one. I've dealt with phantom issues in the past and "the ram may be the issue" is one of many things they suggest. This issue is known, but the problem is almost certainly compatibility with the new mac pro's hardware. I've used the same software on my laptop, an imac, a 2012 mac pro and now the new mac pro, and my latest computer (new mac pro) is the ONLY system this happens on.

33. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
JesseSchluntz Apr 30, 2014 8:24 AM (in response to JesseSchluntz)keep in mind jschwarz, this issue's only workarounds involve eliminating the graphics cards from the process. Therefore the most likely issue is the AMD Firepro cards, which is what Adobe says are the problem.
What bums me out is not getting any help from Adobe on this forum for 3 weeks other than "try cleaning the media cache".
See post 18 above for what I relayed from a tech support call a while back.

34. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
j schwarz Apr 30, 2014 8:29 AM (in response to JesseSchluntz)yeah i've been doing that work around. The biggest problem i'm having is that other people are saying on other fourms that its the vram on the graphic card. Now i took my system up to apple store to have the vram replaced and Apple said they tested the vram and everything should be good to go and that its an ADOBE issue. They also said it might be the OWC ram that i put in the system, are any of you using OWC ram and having this issue? or are you guys using all Apple ram that came with the system? Someone really needs to speak up about this from ADOBE because its getting out of control, this issue has been know for 4 month now and no help been given.

36. Re: RENDER PROBLEM - AME and Premiere Pro CC causing random horizontal lines on H.264 Renders
ChadRHorn Apr 30, 2014 9:06 AM (in response to j schwarz)I just wonder if anyone has been able to use a Mac Pro to export without the lines. I feel like there are only ~15 of us who are having this problem (or are at least posting about it), and there must be more than 15 Mac Pros running Creative Cloud - no?

Tore Jonssen Apr 30, 2014 10:06 AM (in response to ChadRHorn)@ChadRHorn We bought two new Mac Pros, identical setup on both. One of them has these issues, one doesn´t.
@ChrisLewis10 looks more like interlacing / field issues than the issue we´re having
