We have recently been updating a lot of our older flash files
but have had clients reporting that they still see older versions
of the updated files. So we have to walk them through dumping their
cached files and returning to the site.
Is there a way to use actionscript to compare cached swfs to
the swfs on the server to see if they are the most recent versions?
And to load the new version if it is not? Or is this a
the biggest trick is to add a random number onto the .swf
you're loading (in as). When your browser checks your cash for
"myFile.swf?r=1079" and only finds "myFile.swf" it will
automatically load the newer version. This is also useful for XML
pulls to keep them fresh.
