There is a known issue with Premiere Elements and recent updates of McAfee.
So, please disable and/or remove/replace McAfee as your antivirus and determine if your Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 issues are gone.
Once we rule in or out McAfee from the problem considerations, then we can decide what next if necessary.
Thanks for the post, and sorry for the late feedback.
Actually PE seems to work now that McAfee is disabled...so nice to know.
However, as I need a protection for my Vaio (and I paid for it btw), is there any possibility to maintain both software operating on my system ? Any trick ?
Have you asked McAfee? (since it seems to be a problem with that program)
I was aware of a recent problems with Premiere Elements users with McAfee antivirus, but did not realize its negative history with Premiere Elements dates back to at least Premiere Elements 9.
I have never used McAfee. From my perspective, this appears to be an ongoing issue which I suspect McAfee is well aware of.
But, if, by chance, it offers some undocumented solutions for this type of issue, it would be interesting to get its input on this matter.
There are a lot of free antivirus programs that you could investigate. Until Windows 8 and 8.1 64 bit, Microsoft Security Essentials was a choice for me to explore.
