Indesign keeps prompting me to login to sync fonts, but I AM logged in already

If I open a document in InDesign and need to sync the fonts that are in the document, I click "sync" but get an error message saying I need to login in to my adobe account by going to help>login and then restart the application and try again. But when I go to Help, it shows that I AM logged in. I have tried opening and closing InDesign several times and still get the same error. Why does InDesign think I am not logged in? How can I fix this?
