Unfortunately the edgehero capabilities are rather well, limited. I'm not interested in unpracticable "possible" usecases such as cubes. I mean the ability to truly animate something visually (at least as close as possible to the end result). edge hero really just adds a few basic 3D features which you'll never use in 99% of all projects.
Unless you can use these tools directly within Edge Animate with visual feedback it's really rather unintuitive.
I shall add that it took Flash many years to get 3D and Animate is only 2 years in the making. So a little patience....
Btw, thanks for the masking example :).
Another thing that's also interesting is greensock. I'm sure you're aware that animations with jquery have rather bad performance as soon as you have more than 2-3 animations at once. Any plans to import the greensock library and use those tweens instead of the jquery tweens (with visible feedback). I'm aware you can import and hand code them, but a flash like workflow would be preferred :).
I agree with Resdesign, it took many years to Flash to include 3D.
AndreasGalster, I know Google Web Designer's tool can use 3D or advanced masking but if we are a bit patient, it will probably come in the future
About the Greensock thing, yes, Greensock has the best performance but with the Jquery library it's not just about animation, You can use Jquery to do so many different things easily and that's for sure an added value.
I'm not sure if they will later add a way to "choice" between Greensock and Jquery but why not, it could be nice for a future release of EA.
