    Working with {? templates ?}

      Some service parameters allow you to specify them as a literal value, XPath expression, variable, or template.  This last one is a string with embedded xpath expressions between {? and ?}.  For example, you can construct an email message or task instructions using this method.  Behind the scenes, LiveCycle evaluates the expressions between the curly braces and substitutes the resulting values into the string.  Is there a way to invoke this variable substitition feature explicitly?  For example, could I define a template and store it in a variable and then "call" the template substitution feature to construct a "merged" string and assign that result to a variable?  Is this possible using the Set Value service?  Is there a way to do it in Script?
