    Help, I can't open an important file!?

    treardon12

      I am having a huge problem with a file that I can't open.  It is a html file in dream weaver and everytime I try and open it dreamweaver just freezes and I can't do anything.  I don't understand what could be wrong, I have even tried opening the source code in a browser copy and pasting into a new file and saving and the same thing happens when I try and open it.  Please help if you can, I would greatly appreciate it, I have been working on this website for a month I would hate to lose all that I have worked on.

          We need to see the file. Got a url? Also the version of DW and OS details.

            In a text editor, comment out any links to third party scripts in your code and see if that changes anything in DW. Change things like...

            <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.js"></script>

            to

            <!-- <script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.js"></script> -->

            Sometimes, DW will choke on third party links if they are slow/unavailable (not that the exact one I used above would be down, that would be really weird).

              unfortunately I don't have a url, I am a web design student and this is for my final project, I can copy and paste the code into here, but I dont think I can send my html document through here.  Other than that I'm worried that my file was corrupted or something and I don't know how to fix it, my code seems fine but I would appreciate it if you could take a look, thanks for replying.

                    Clear out the errors in your site; There seem to be lot of them.

                      Can you try pasting your code again? As you may be able to see, your previous attempt didn't come in very well. And unlike subhadeep, I don't see invalid code in what I could make out of your code.

                        You may want to look again (or maybe it's displaying better for me in Firefox)...

                        There's a <div> in the <head> section and a bunch of content outside the ending </body> before the ending </html>.
