DrStrik9 Mar 17, 2014 7:14 PM (in response to Ziedin1983)Just wondering:
What OS (Mac/PC)? How much RAM, and how much hard drive space is available? Are your scratch disks set up properly in Prefs > Plug-Ins & Scratch Disks? If PC, is your graphics card driver up to date?

5. Re: Illustrator CC Links Pallet
DrStrik9 Mar 20, 2014 8:37 AM (in response to Ziedin1983)Are there any controls for your graphics card that can be experimentally changed, just in case the problem is related to that card?
Also, can you get access to the options in the Links Palette long enough to turn off the image thumbnail (maybe in a document with only one tiny placed image)?
Does this problem happen when there are NO images placed in your AI file?

6. Re: Illustrator CC Links Pallet
Ziedin1983 Mar 27, 2014 9:30 PM (in response to DrStrik9)I did a few tests on couple of other iMacs that we have here that are identical to mine and they experience the same issue. The graphics cards are fine.
I tried the option in the Links Palette and that made no difference.
This issue doesn't happen unless I am dealing with large images linked into Illustrator. Smaller sized images work ok, but when you are dealing with complex files with a lot of images it causes issues.
I did notice that when trying to use quick commands to change tools sometimes Illustrator will not change the tool. There seems to be a lot of glitches in the new Illustrator.
My main concern is when dealing with Linked images. I usually am waiting for a long time to do anything or Illustrator crashing a lot.
