    Texts for animations?

    Ruth Schreiber

Is Premiere Elements suitable for stop motion animation editing, adding texts (titles) and music?

          Yes.

What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running?

If you do not have Premiere Elements and are just thinking about using it, then I would suggest that you download and

install the free 30 day tryout of the program so that you can decide "before purchase" if the program is compatible with

your computer environment and meets your video editing needs.

            Dear ATR,

Yes, I have not bought it yet and do plan to go for the 30-day trial

But a friend showed me an old version of Premiere which could do everything I need: add titles, music and edit the actual image (enlarge, move upwards)- can Premiere Elements 12 do all of this too?

I want the cheapest program that meets these needs.

Thanks for your advice and links

Yes it can do all those things you list, but you say 'a friend showed me an old version of Premiere'. Your friend may have had an old version of Premiere Pro rather than Premiere Elements. Pro is the more sophisticated of the two products so definitely go for the Elements free trial to make sure it has all the features you want.

              Cheers,

What old version of Premiere Elements did your friend point out to you? Some of these older versions can still be purchased online. If you have access to that older version via the friend's workspace and it gets your task done,  then go with it.

The principles tend to stay the same from version to version. It is the feature set that can be changed, moved, or discontinued from version to version. It is very frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature. There was a dramatic workspace change for Premiere Elements 11 and 12 as compared to Premiere Elements versions earlier than 11.

Provided you have enough computer resources to handle projects and source media that are supported by the program, you should do OK with Premiere Elements and what you descibed as your goals. As a reference point, Premiere Elements 10, 11, and 12 are 64 bit application when run specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit. That has positive computer resource implications. But, if you have Premiere Elements 10 on a computer that uses a NVIDIA video card, you will need to roll back the driver to get Premiere Elements 10 to work for you. Please refer to Announcement at top of this Forum.

                Thank you.
