1. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
shooternz Mar 19, 2014 2:32 PM (in response to wrecktv)There is a function ...and I have forgotten for the moment. ..but its something like Alt-Click on an existing Title and it will create a unique version of it.

2. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
SAFEHARBOR11 Mar 19, 2014 2:36 PM (in response to shooternz)Copy/Paste contents of Sequence to a New Sequence, then in New Sequence, double-click on a title to open it in the Titler. Click the button at upper left for "New title from current", THEN you can make your modifications, then exit out of titler. Last step is to right-click existing title on timeline, and select "Replace > with clip from bin" and this will change it to the NEW title you just created, any effects/transitions on the title remain intact but content of title is updated.
Thanks

3. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
wrecktv Mar 28, 2014 8:32 AM (in response to SAFEHARBOR11)SafeHarbor11, That method is helpful. Thank you.
However, I was hoping to have a few less steps. Sometimes I have to duplicate 20 or more commercials in both HD and SD for one client and only need to make certain changes to the title/slate information. Adding each of these steps gets old quick, it's time I could be working other projects. It was a quicker process in FCP7; duplicate sequence, make title changes, done.Rick Lopez

JSS1138 Mar 28, 2014 9:24 AM (in response to wrecktv)Titles work differently in PP.

5. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
Mark Mapes Mar 28, 2014 11:53 AM (in response to wrecktv)Two workflows that might serve your needs:
Workflow A: Duplicating just the titles
- Duplicate the sequence
- Alt+drag a title that you need to revise to an open spot in the Timeline. This creates a duplicate title that's completely independent.
- Drag the new title back onto the original to replace it.
- Double-click the title to load it in the Titler panel and make the desired revisions.
Workflow B: Duplicating the whole sequence via Import
- In Media Browser, drill down to the current project and double-click it show its contents.
- Drag the sequence you want to duplicate into the Project panel. (You might want to first create a bin to drop the sequence into.) This not only creates a duplicate sequence but also makes duplicate project items for *all* assets used in the sequence.
- Double-click the title to load it in the Titler panel and make the desired revisions.
The downside here is that duplicating all of the sequence's assets could be a drag in several regards.

JSS1138 Mar 28, 2014 4:10 PM (in response to Mark Mapes)- Drag the sequence you want to duplicate into the Project panel. This not only creates a duplicate sequence but also makes duplicate project items for *all* assets used in the sequence.
Importing an entire project will duplicate assets (which most people find very annoying). Importing a sequence won't duplicate anything.

7. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
Mark Mapes Mar 28, 2014 10:33 PM (in response to JSS1138)It appears we're both right, and both wrong, Jim. Importing a sequence creates duplicates of only the synthetics--including titles--but not clips. I tested the behavior before posting this morning, but my test was quick and incomplete, consisting only of a few synthetics...
Here were the results importing 4 sequences, each with a regular video clip and a title:
There may be some inconstencies (read "bugs"), as well. The reason I tried with four variants of the same sequence was that on my first try this evening using a sequence containing a Bars & Tone and a title, only the B&T got duped.

8. Re: Duplicate a Sequence easily with Unique Titles.
JSS1138 Mar 29, 2014 7:43 AM (in response to Mark Mapes)I couldn't get that result. In a sequence with black, video clips, adjustment layer, title and bars, nothing got duplicated. (Which I honestly consider the correct behavior.)

wrecktv Mar 31, 2014 9:33 AM (in response to Mark Mapes)First, thank you Mark and Jim for seriously digging into this to find a resoultion. kuddos.
Like Jim mentioned, I also tried Workflow B and nothing was duplicated. For this week I'll probably run with "Workflow A". It seems to be the best method so far.
