I'm sorry, I'm not able to help, but thought I'd express my surprise that anyone is still using Flex 1.5!
Out of curiosity I looked up the release date for Flex 1.5 and it's late 2004.
Flex 2 marked the change from requiring a beefy server to deploy flex to making app compilation happen at development, reducing the load on the deployment server.
How come you guys are still using Flex 1.5 and does Adobe still support it?
Flex 1.5 brings back memories of how exciting a technology Flex was and it's scary to think that's ten years ago.
It was a big project which was developed in 2005 still it is working awesome without any single error or Flashplayer problem and it works very fast using remote objects.
i want to say thanks to the Macromedia and Adobe company for developing such a standard technology which can be used after 10 years also without any problem....
Can anyone know how deploy Macromedia Flex 1.5 in WebSphere 8.5...
Wow, this is the second question about Flex 1.5 in the past year!
I don't know much about the server side, but do you really need the on-demand MXML compiler servlet or are you just trying to get some version of ColdFusion to run on Web Sphere?
Sorry i dint get you...Actually i want the documentation for deploying Flex 1.5 (back end: .Net) in Web Sphere 8.5.
The Above link shows you the installation instructions of flex 1.5 in Jrun4 Server, So same like that i need installation instructions for flex 1.5 in web Sphere 8.5.
I'm not an expert on Flex 1.5 server side, but I'm not clear that Flex 1.5 was officially supported on anything other than Jrun. Can you point to links that indicate that Web Sphere was certified by Macromedia?
Above Attached image shows the application servers that are certified by macromedia. You can find IBM Web Sphere Server Supporting Flex 1.5.
And below link provides you more details
OK, like I said, I don't know much about the server side. I assume you have the .WAR files for Flex 1.5. Is it just a matter of deploying the WAR files in WebSphere?
I found this link. It isn't Flex specific but may help.
Hi, I have sucessfully installed flex 1.5 application war file in websphere 8.5, but the application page (.mxml) is downloading instead of loading in the web browser, when i call the main application .mxml file from the websphere 8.5 server.
I tried to open other html page it is loading in the browser from server but not .mxml file.
can u please tell me how to load main application .mxml page in web browser.
That is out of my area of knowledge. You may need to work with Web Sphere support or forums.
My understanding is that there is a servlet in the WAR file that somehow intercept requests for .mxml files. It should work just like the way a .php request gets intercepted. It sounds like mxml servlet is not configured correctly, or the request you are making from the client isn't triggering the servlet, which could be because the servlet is listening to a particular port.
Atlast it's working now!!!
As you suggested there is a problem in servlet configuration, I checked out Configuration in Web-INF/Web.xml file there i dint found Resource Reference to websphere. So I Added the below Lines, Now it's Working.
Thanks for Your Kind Suggestions,Which Helped me a Lot!!
