Welcome to the forum.
Is this fuzziness only in PrE, or does it appear the same way, when you output your Timeline to a file?
Good luck, and let us know a bit more please.
It seems that I have the same problem with Acrobat Pro as well. Not sure what you mean by Timeline.
In PrE Expert Mode (for PrE 11 & 12), the Project is represented as a Timeline, with the Clips, Titles, etc. on it.
When you output that Timeline via Publish+Share, to achieve, say an MP4 AV file, playing that in QuickTime Player should tell us if this is only a display issue (sounding more like that, since you are seeing the same in Acrobat), or if there is something in the workflow, that is causing the issue with fonts in PrE and also with the output of that Timeline.
If it IS only a display issue, then the troubleshooting will likely focus on your display adapter (GPU) and your video driver. On a Mac, the video drivers are *usually* updated, whenever one updates their OS.
If the issue is also with the output file, then different troubleshooting questions need to be addressed.
Before we go down both of those roads, I want to try to determine where the problem exists.
Neither Photoshop Elements nor Premiere Elements support the retina display capabilities. There are a couple of feature requests for support to be added to Photoshop Elements but I don't find any for Premiere elements. You might care to open one at http://feedback.photoshop.com.

I now understand. It is only a display issue. There was only one minor OS update, I have 10.9.2, and I still have the same problem.
Thank you. Disappointed but relieved that this wasn’t due to my technical skills.
