I am working in Windows 8.1. I have both Photoshop CS5 and CS6 on this computer. When I am working in either version and get ready to save the file in Photoshop I get the message, "you do not have permission to save in this location. Must seek Administrator's permission. I am the administrator and the only person who uses this computer. This is so frustrating. I know it is in the settings somewhere but I don't know what to change.
This computer is now out of warranty and HP will not help me for less than $149.00. When the computer was in warranty I talked with one support tech and she changed the settings so I could save in Photoshop. At some point in time and update, etc., has changed the settings and now I can't save files in Photoshop.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
If you're in Desktop mode, right-click the Windows start logo in the lower left > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Change your account type. If it's not an Administrator account, make it one.
Thank you, but I am already the administrator. There is some other glitch somewhere. I hate Windows 8.1.
Thanks for your help.
Try looking at the security tab under the drive's properties. See if you have write control under your account.
