    Stuck on Eraser?

    Spectral Lines

Regularly, when I select a tool and go to use it, I realise it is the eraser that is in operation. Not matter which tool I then click on, the eraser keeps on as the actual selected tool I can use. I use a Wacom Intuos 5 touch, and I suspect there is an issue there, rather than with Photoshop, but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced and/or solved this issue?

      Some particulars:

      • I've reinstalled the latest wacom drivers.
      • I don't think it is anything to do with having the pen touching the wacom when I'm unaware or anything physical like that
      • Its happened very regularly, and I'm able to "unstick it" by selecting the 2b pencil tool and drawing with it. Not sure why this works, but it is a bit of a pain.
      • After trying to eliminate various possible causes, my current theories are:
        • the wacom pen/eraser might be faulty.
        • The new CC install of photoshop might not be 100% compatible with the latest wacom drivers. I think this because I only recently installed the new CC version of photoshop after I had to reinstall windows.
