Upon clicking the icon for the saved file, I get this message:
"Cannot open the file'*****.indd'. Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."
Ive tried copying the file to other places and renaming but thats not working. Im able to open other .indd files. Im working on a pc with windows 8. What do i do?
That's the typical message you get when either there is lock file (.idlk) that was not dleted for some reason, usually a crash, or the file you are trying to open isn't really an InDesign file. We see this fairly often when inexperienced users change a file extension.
All the work to this file was done in one sitting. Nothing crashed and I know I didn't try to change the extension. Would it be telling me its an .indd file but really not be? If so, how do I get it back to an InDesign file?
Can you post this file someplace, or if you don't want to share with everyone, send me a link in a private message (click my name to g to my profile page)?
